Q. Is Senso suitable for any part of my home?
A. Yes, Senso Essential and Lifestyle can be installed in any room, including bathrooms and kitchens.

Q. What areas are suitable to install Senso Hobby in?
A. Senso Hobby is not recommended for residential use, only for cubby houses, work surfaces etc.

Q. Can Senso go in wet areas?
A. Senso Essential and Lifestyle are water resistant and are ideal for wet areas, including kitchens, bathrooms, laundries and toilets. The product can’t be installed in the shower base.

Q. Can I install Senso in a commercial application such as a café, shop or restaurant?
A. No, Senso is purely for residential use.

Q. Is Senso hygienic?
A. Senso’s polyurethane surface treatment creates a barrier against dirt and harmful bacteria. It is an ideal choice for those with allergies, or prone to asthma.

Q. Can I put Senso outside?
A. Senso is for indoor use only.

Q. Can I install Senso on a wall?
A. No, the product is designed only for horizontal application only.

Q. Can I put Senso in my garage?
This depends on your use of your garage. If it is a rumpus room without cars the product is fine. If cars are constantly driving in and out and sitting on the product for extended periods of time, eventually the car tyres will stain the floor.

Q. Will Senso perform in my home and withstand general wear and tear?
A. Yes it will. Senso Essential and Lifestyle are engineered to ensure they meet the needs of the most demanding households.

Q. What is the warranty for Senso?
A. Senso Hobby has a 1 year guarantee.
Senso Essential has a 5 year residential use guarantee.
Senso Lifestlye has a 10 year residential use guarantee. Details of the guarantee can be obtained by contacting Gerflor Customer Service.

Q. Will Senso be affected if I have underfloor heating?
A. Senso Essential and Lifestyle can be installed over heated floors, as long as the floor temperature doesn’t exceed 28°C. The heating system must be turned off 48 hours before installation and only turned on 48 hours after installation is completed.

Q. How does Senso help the environment?
A. 95% of Senso Lifestyle’s backing is manufactured from recycled PET drink bottles. 1 sqm of Texline saves 2 bottles going into landfill.

Q. Is Senso quiet to walk on?
A. Yes. Senso is much quieter than timber floors, laminates and tiles, therefore ideal for apartments, multi-storey dwelling and corridors. Senso is perfect for re-covering hard and noisy floors.

Q. Is Senso warm underfoot?
A. Yes, Senso is warmer underfoot than other flooring options, such as ceramic tiles, and is second only to carpet for underfoot warmth.

Q. Will Senso cope with wear and tear from pets?
A. Yes, as long as pets with long claws aren’t repeatedly digging in one spot, Senso will not be affected by your pet, and cleaning fur and mess will be made easier.

Q. Can wheelchairs go on Senso?
Yes, as wheelchair wheels are made with medical grade rubber, they can go on Senso without staining the floor.

Q. What tools will I need?
A. A metal ruler, pencil, spirit level and utility knife. If you are gluing your Senso flooring you will need vinyl adhesive and an applicator. If you are loose laying your Senso flooring you will need double-sided tape.

Q. What preparation is required?
A. Make sure your subfloor is perfectly dry, smooth, level, sound and clean. Switch under floor heating off 24 hours prior to installation. Allow flooring to relax, unrolled for 24 hours prior to laying.

Q. What if my subfloor is not level?
A. Uneven or damaged surfaces need to be filled and levelled. You may need to use a self-levelling compound. Cracks need to be needs to be filled and levelled.

Q. Are some subfloors unsuitable to install Senso on?
A. Yes, some subfloors repel water based glue that is required to install Senso Hobby. If timber subfloor is in poor condition we recommend installing Masonite underlay sheets as per Australian standards. For specific subfloor questions, download the full Installation and Maintenance guide.

Q. Can Senso be installed on floating wood or laminate floors?
A. No, the product needs to be installed on a flat solid surface

Q. Do I need to glue down Senso?
A. Senso Hobby – yes, you will need to use a vinyl adhesive. Senso Essentials and Lifestyle – no, these product can be loose laid.

Q. What does loose lay mean?
A. Senso Essentials and Lifestyle can be loose laid up to 20m2. This means no adhesives are required for installation. This makes it fast and more economical.

Q. How do I install Senso?
A. Download the full Installation and Maintenance Guide before installing.
Check that the subfloor is perfectly dry, smooth, level, sound and clean.
Cut the vinyl to fit the floor area, allowing for overhang.
Trim the excess with a utility knife.

If gluing the floor – use a vinyl adhesive to stick the floor down to the subfloor.
If loose laying the floor – use double-sided tape on the perimeter of the room and under heavy usage / object areas, such as fridges and washing machines.

Q. How do I clean Senso?
A. Senso can be maintained with a simple sweep and mop with a detergent that states it is compatible with vinyl flooring. No sealing or polishing is required for the life of the product.

Q. What if I get a stain on Senso?
A. Most stains can be removed using a damp cloth with Eucalyptus Oil. Never use abrasive pads or cleaners, strong alkaline detergents, ammonia, chlorine detergents or undiluted bleaches. Always wipe spills away immediately with a damp cloth or sponge.

Q. What if I put rubber on Senso?
A. Do not put waxed or rubber products in prolonged contact with your floor as this will cause a permanent stain. This includes rubber backed mats, low cost shoes, and rubber stoppers for furniture. Use an alternative such as fabric stoppers to protect your Senso flooring.

Q. How do I protect my Senso floor when moving heavy furniture?
A. As with all types of flooring, dragging a heavy item such as a refrigerator will damage the product. When moving furniture ensure you use a roller trolley and move item carefully.

Q. Can I use my steam mop on Senso?
A. Yes, Senso is compatible with steam mop treatment. As long as one spot isn’t focused on for an extended period of time as this will heat the floor and interfere with the adhesive.
